Family Kingdom Amusement Park

Family Kingdom is one of the few remaining beachfront amusement parks on the East Coast. It sits right on the ocean in Myrtle Beach and has been a Grand Strand staple for decades. It's a good fit for families with kids of all ages — there's a mix of classic rides, thrill rides, and a water park next door.

What's There

The amusement park side has over 30 rides including a wooden roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, go-karts, and plenty of rides for younger kids. The adjacent Splashes Oceanfront Water Park is a separate admission but shares the same beachfront location, with slides, a lazy river, and a kids' splash area.

Tips

Check the website for combo ticket deals that bundle the amusement park and water park together — it's usually the better value. The park runs seasonal hours, so confirm before you go. Evenings tend to be less crowded and cooler in summer.

Getting There from Ocean Lakes

About 10 minutes north on US-17. There's on-site parking, and the beachfront location means you can walk to the sand between rides.
