Myrtle Beach SkyWheel
The SkyWheel sits right on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and is hard to miss — it stands 187 feet tall and lights up the coastline at night. Each gondola is climate-controlled and enclosed, so it's comfortable year-round and a good option even on a hot afternoon.
What to Expect
A ride takes about 10–12 minutes and gives you three full rotations with views up and down the Grand Strand. It's a smooth, slow ride that works well for young kids and anyone who wants a bird's-eye look at the beach without anything too intense.
Tips
Go at dusk if you can — the sunset over the water from the top is worth timing your visit around. The line moves quickly, but weekends in peak season can get busy, so arriving early or later in the evening helps. Tickets are available on-site or online in advance.
Getting There from Ocean Lakes
About 15 minutes north on US-17. Parking is available along the boardwalk area, though it fills up fast in summer. Rideshare is an easy option if you'd rather skip the parking hunt.
