Myrtle Beach State Park
Myrtle Beach State Park is right next door to Ocean Lakes, making it one of the easiest day trips from your rental. It's a quieter alternative to the main beach strip, with a nature preserve, fishing pier, and a stretch of beach that stays less crowded than the public areas nearby.
What to Do
Swim at the park beach, fish off the pier, or walk the nature trails through the maritime forest. The trails are short and flat, good for kids. There's also a nature center with exhibits on local wildlife and the coastal ecosystem.
Fees & Hours
There's a small daily admission fee per person. The park is open year-round, though hours vary by season. The fishing pier charges a separate fee for fishing access.
Getting There
It's less than a mile from Ocean Lakes. You can drive, or depending on your home's location inside the campground, it may even be reachable by golf cart. Check the route before you go.
