Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach
Ripley's Aquarium is inside Broadway at the Beach, about 15 minutes from Ocean Lakes. It's one of the most popular stops on the Grand Strand, and for good reason. The main draw is the 750,000-gallon shark tunnel, where you ride a moving walkway through the tank while rays and sharks pass overhead.
What's Inside
Beyond the shark tunnel, there are touch tanks with horseshoe crabs and stingrays, a jellyfish gallery, a seahorse exhibit, and a large coral reef display. It's well laid out and easy to do with kids of any age.
Tickets & Hours
The aquarium is open daily, including holidays. Tickets are cheaper when bought online in advance. Plan for about 2 hours inside, longer if you have young kids who want to linger at the touch tanks.
Getting There from Ocean Lakes
About 15 minutes north by car. It's inside the Broadway at the Beach complex, so you can combine it with dinner or a walk around the lake.
